VIAGEM DA AMAZÔNIA AFS 2008: CITY TOUR E TRILHAS EM PRESIDENTE FIGUEIREDO

Nós levantamos cedo, depois do café da manhã e fomos para o teatro Amazonas, tinha bastante coisas interessantes para ver. Tiramos muitas fotos dentro do teatro. Na praça da frente batemos muitas fotos do grupo e os guias tiveram que bater fotos com umas quarentas câmeras. Depois fomos para o museu das ciências naturais onde vimos muitos peixes, borboletas, insetos e outros animais legais. Em seguida fomos para o porto de Manaus que tinha uma feira da banana, havia um monte de bananas mesmo, tinha bananas de todos os tamanhos com menos de trinta centímetros.

Para almoçar fomos numa outra feira no centro da cidade, estava muito calor e o sol bateu muito forte, achar um restaurante com ar condicionado foi muito difícil, então nosso grupo comeu na feira mesmo. Com o ônibus fomos para um shopping e ficamos lá por uma hora, para comprar alguns presentes para a visita de uma comunidade na floresta em outro dia, saímos de Manaus para a cidade de Presidente Figueiredo, viajamos em uma estrada no meio da floresta por mais de duas horas.

We woke up early, after breakfast we went to the Amazon Theater, where there was a lot of interesting things to see. We took many pictures inside the theater. There is a park in front of the theater where we took many group pictures, and the trip coordinators had to take pictures with something like forty cameras. Afterwards, we went to the natural science museum where we saw a lot of fishes, birds, insects and other cool animals. After that, we went to Manaus Port where there was a banana faire, there was really a bunch of bananas of all sizes, even with less than thirty centimeters.

We went to another faire to get some lunch, it was very hot, the sun hit with all strength, it was very hard to find a restaurant with air conditioner. We went to the mall by bus and stood there for one hour, to buy a few presents for the community we were going to visit some other day, we left Manaus and went to Presidente Figueiredo, we traveled in a road in the middle of the jungle for more than two hours.

Chegando em Presidente Figueiredo jantamos e em seguida assistimos um show de danças folclóricas, depois da apresentação nós tivemos a oportunidade de participar e aprender a dança. A diversão da noite foi pular na cama elástica, nadar na piscina ou ficar conversando e trocando experiências.

No dia seguinte começamos a nossa primeira caminhada na floresta amazônica depois de um café da manhã muito delicioso. Entrando na selva deu para perceber que nossa aventura não ia deixar ninguém com roupa seca e limpa, por causa da chuva forte da noite anterior as trilhas estavam cheias de águas e em alguns lugares a água alcançava nosso umbigo. Para chegar a primeira cachoeira os guias tiveram que fazer uma trilha nova porque a original estava alagada e não podíamos passar. Atravessar o rio, andar na água e se “perde” na floresta aumentou nossa sensação de estar no meio de um filme de aventura.

Antes de entrar na selva novamente tivemos o tempo de almoçar e dar uma pulada na piscina do hotel. A segunda caminhada nos levou para uma parte completamente diferente da floresta. Escutando, vendo e sentindo a vida da floresta, nós caminhamos até uma segunda cachoeira e já no escuro todo mundo pulou nesta água desconhecida e vivenciou a floresta de uma maneira muito especial.

Um pouco cansados mas animados deixamos o hotel depois do café da manhã, para descobrir mais uma parte da floresta. Até chegar em uma outra cachoeira bem maior os guias dos pequenos grupos explicavam as plantas e árvores que muitas vezes servem como farmácias naturais. Fugindo do calor do meio-dia nos refrescamos na água vermelha até que a fome nos levou de volta ao hotel.

Depois do almoço voltamos pela última vez para a civilização para mandar sinal de vida as nossas famílias hospedeiras, comprar o que precisávamos e experimentar os sabores da amazônia, da única e melhor sorveteria da cidade.Plantando árvores de açaí participamos de um projeto iniciado pela recuperação do desmatamento da floresta amazônica e assim deixamos a nossa marca para sempre. A noite arrumamos nossas malas, ouvimos lendas sobre a amazônia e a região, aproveitando pela última vez um chuveiro quente e uma verdadeira cama.

Arriving in Presidente Figueiredo we had dinner and then went to a folkloric dance show, after the presentation we had the opportunity to take part and learn how to dance it. The funniest part of the night was jumping in the elastic bed, swimming at the pool, talking and sharing experiences.

The next day we started our fist walk in the jungle after a delicious breakfast As we were entering the jungle we could feel that our clothes were not going to keep dry or clean because of last night ‘s strong rain, the tracks were full of water and at some places the water could reach our bellies. To get to the first waterfall the guides had to make a new track because the original one was soaked and we couldn’t pass. To cross the river, walk in the water and get “lost” in the jungle increased the feeling of being in an adventure movie.

Before going into the jungle one more time we had the time to have lunch and swim at the hotel pool. The next walk took us to a completely different part of the forest. We were listening, seeing and feeling the life in the forest, we walked to a second waterfall, it was almost dark when we all jumped into this unknown water and we had the chance to live the forest in a very special way.

A little tired but very excited we left the hotel after breakfast, to find out one more part of the jungle. As we were heading to a bigger waterfall the guides were explaining to small groups about the plants and trees that are used as natural medicines. Trying to run away from the midday sun we refreshed ourselves in the red water until our hunger took us back to the hotel.

After lunch we had our last contact with civilization, and our last chance to make contact with our host families, buy whatever we needed and try all the amazon flavors, from the only and best icecream parlor in town.Planting açaí trees we took part of a project for the recover of the Amazon forest, this way we left our marks there for ever. At night we packed, heard legends about the amazon and the region, taking for the last time all the profits.of a warm shower and a real bed.
